Inspired by the guerrilla gardening movement, the Bee Cell is a single cell nesting site designed for solitary bees. The Bee Cell looks great on a garden wall, in a log pile, on a sunny windowsill - anywhere where you can add a little space for wildlife.

Bee Cell is solid at the back and has a single cavity where solitary bees, such as red mason and leafcutter bees, will lay their eggs, sealing the entrance with mud or chewed up vegetation. Offspring emerge in the Spring and begin the process of nesting again, repeating the cycle.

Solitary bees are facing a dramatic decline in numbers due to disease, an increase in chemical use and habitat loss. Pollinators account for 1/3 of the food we eat and are a vital part of our environment. Solitary bees are harmless and will not sting you unless you handle them roughly, even then their stings are not painful, meaning they are safe to encourage around pets and children.

The Bee Cell is designed and made by Green&Blue in the UK.
