Raymond Poulidor
Three miniature cyclist figures painted to celebrate the career of Raymond Poulidor. Pou-Pou / The Eternal Second was a famous public favourite underdog rider whose career coincided with that of Jacques Anquetil (their sporting rivalry is now the stuff of scholarly tomes on French post-war cultural history) then Eddy Merckx. Still his consistency saw him finish in the top ten of 15 of the 18 Grand Tours he entered during his career, including a 3rd place in his final Tour de France at the age of 40. Today Pou-Pou is possibly best know through his grandson, a certain Mathieu van der Poel.
Responsibly Made in the EU from die-cast base metal.
Each figure 55mm tall.
Presented in a plastic display box.
